Bowenhurst BESS
RE Projects Development Ltd. (REPD) is proposing a new battery energy storage system (BESS) on land at Bowenhurst Farm, Crondall, Farnham, GU10 5RP.
The development will be located within
a mixed-use area to the west of Finns Business Park.
History
A previous planning application for a BESS development at Bowenhurst Farm (ref. 25/01186/FUL) was refused by Hart District Council in February 2026. The scheme has been redesigned and a new submission presents a revised scheme which responds to the matters raised in that decision, informed by further design development and technical assessment.
The updated design includes new equipment that has reduced the required height of the acoustic fence and enabled the BESS units to be located further away from residential properties along Mill Lane.
Original Public Consultation
The team met with members of the public on the 8th of May 2025 at The Hampshire Arms, Crondall. Information boards were on display and members of the team were able to answer questions.
Leaflets were issued to addresses within a 1-mile radius of the site to promote the session on the 8th of May.
